Flug Tag and Portland Zoo

So, a couple of weekends ago the wives tried to get together to watch the Red Bull Flug Tag Races. It was crazy to see how many people can be crammed along the bank of a river and how many boats they can fit in a small area in the river! I was amazed! I don't know if you can see in the pictures, but people were crammed all along the bridges to get a spot that they could hopefully see from. To be honest, I am not exactly sure what flug tag is, but it appeared that people would create some kind of vehicle that would run down a ramp and dive off into the river. They put wings or other things on the cars to make them catch some air and I think who ever could get their vehicle the farthest won. They had some pretty crazy looking vehicles. Mariela and I really didn't see a whole lot because it was a little difficult to navigate through the crowd with a single and a double jogging stroller, but we did attempt. Finally, when the girls seemed to be board out of their mind and restless, we decided to ditch the races and go get some food.

This looked like a fun little spot to take a picture outside the African animal exhibits.
It seemed like the girls had more fun playing on the statues and anything else they could climb on rather than looking at animals in the exhibits. The tiger, elephants, and bats seemed to keep Kinley's attention for a few minutes though.
Once again, more rocks to climb on. She loves to climb!

The rest of these are on the train. The girls loved the train that rode around Washington Park. I think they enjoyed this the most out of anything. It was fun to see all of the big trees in the park and then the train took us on a little tour of some animals in the zoo. We had a lot of fun!

Catch Up

I know it has been a while since I have updated, but here is what the Kerbs have been up to the last month.



Kinley and Sadie found a new friend who also shares the same passion about Princesses and dresses. The sad thing is that our friend is moving tomorrow. Kinley had a blast riding bikes with her friend. Even though we haven't known her very long, I know the girls will miss her.
Kinley riding her bike in her princess dress. She also got a basket to put on her bike so that she could carry her babies with her when she rides. She used to stick their heads through the handle bars so that they could ride with her, but the basket just seemed the better way to go.

These are pictures taken at the Portland Children's Museum. The sad thing is that we have already been to the Indianapolis Children's Museum, which puts this one to shame. Oh well. This museum is meant to inspire creativity and imagination, so I guess it serves its purpose. I think the kids had fun.

Sadie and her tricycle. She loves to ride her tricycle while Kinley rides her bike. About three days ago she learned how to pedal it all by herself, which is wonderful because I don't have to bend down to push her. She seemed to pick up on it really fast. I know she learns so much from Kinley.
The girls on their bikes with another friend we met who also moved a few weeks ago. We have had fun making many new friends. The sad thing is they have to move.


Kinley on her new bicycle. This is what we do for fun EVERY day. No matter what we have been doing the rest of the day, there is always time and energy to ride the bicycle. It also seems to be a good motivator for Kinley when I ask her to do things. I am glad she likes to ride it. It is another way to keep her active, like she needs another way. Cam and I have fun going on walks now while she rides her bike. She has really picked up on turning, braking, and speed very well.

Having fun at the fountain along the river walk way in Corvallis. This seemed to be quite the popular spot for kids to play. We were lucky that it was only a few blocks from the hotel we were staying at. The girls seemed to really like it. They also met several new friends here.

Here is the view from our hotel window. They closed off the whole street and everyone lit their own fireworks until it was time for the big show. Their big show, however, was nothing like what we are used to. It literally lasted maybe ten minutes. It left all of us wondering, "was that really the finally?"

Playing at Central Park in Corvallis. This was our favorite place to come during our stay in the town. It was within walking distance and there was a fun playground with sand and lots of kids to play with. There were also some fun statues and concerts going on during the week. We have some very fun memories here.
